Daffodil Lodge and Marina Care Homes come together in a remarkable ladies’ day event hosted at the Grand Hotel.

Ladies’ Day was organised to all residents’ delight at Prime Care Homes, Daffodil Lodge and Marina Care Home in Southport.

The morning started with a bucks fizz breakfast followed by a visit to the local hairdresser who set up in the home salon for blow drying & snipping away until everyone looked prim and proper. All residents were pampered and many ladies had their makeup done for the occasion.

The ladies wore the most beautiful dresses with fascinators, and gentlemen in their suits except ex-merchant navy veteran Brian who wore his uniform with pride.

All residents along with their family members headed to the Chloe Piano Bar at Grand Hotel in Southport where they were greeted with a first-class service, a glass of prosecco and lunch prepared for them and their loved ones.

It was also a fantastic opportunity for one-to-one conversations with residents of both homes while giving them an opportunity to dress up for an exciting occasion and spend quality time with their families, some residents invited their children and grandchildren to come along for the day.

Jean, Resident at Daffodil Lodge said “It’s been a wonderful day out, I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, especially being able to share these memories with my family.”

Daughter of a resident at Marina Care Home, Jane said “All the team at Marina are amazing, the events they organise are wonderful for the residents and families too, especially the spouses of residents as the change to their lives after their loved one goes into care is so huge, my dad has a spring in his step. He’s had a haircut and got a suit on all because he’s been invited to this event today, it’s wonderful to see.”

Marina Care Home Manager, Adam Holmes said, ‘We love providing unique activities that make our residents feel special – no better way to do that than having a Ladies Day!’ Well done to Group Events Manager, Lesley Malon for organising such a wonderful day for the residents and families.

The celebrations also carried on within the care homes for residents who didn’t attend the trip with afternoon cream teas as they watched ladies’ day live on TV.
